Procession began as a site specific, performative installation in the Arctic where the artwork was interacting with the space yet leaving no trace of this exchange. Through this mesmerising impermanent dance, this work hopes to assert that every person and every place matters. Packed in suitcases and moved across land and water and worn by many around the world, these houses connect and celebrate our disparate/distant lands as well as the shared elements in expressing ourselves through ceremonies and symbols.

The flowing forms of the wearable houses that comprise Procession were directly informed from her earlier porcelain sculpture series Cover/Uncover (http://www.stephanieimbeau.com/work/cover-uncover).
